Leave Time
Youth & Family Services recognizes the hardship of direct services. Therefore leave is granted on the following basis:
- 0 – 2 Years of Full-time Employment = 3 weeks a year
- 3 – 5 Years of Full-time Employment = 4 weeks a year
- 6 – 11 Years of Full-time Employment = 5 weeks a year
- 12 + Years of Full-time Employment = 6 weeks a year
Youth & Family Services provides eight paid holidays. In addition, YFS employees get to take two additional days as well as their birthday off.
Major Medical, Life, Long Term Disability, & Dental Insurance Rates
Long -Term Disability Insurance
Insurance provides up to 60% of annual wages after an employee has been disabled for three months.
Employee pays approximately $.34 per $100 earned.
Life Insurance
There is a $25,000 benefit. That amount increases if death is the result of an accident.
Employee pays approximately $2 per month.

Major Medical Insurance provider is Well-Mark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Dakota
- Office co-pay: In-Network (PCP) $30; In-Network (Specialist) $45
- Prescription co-pay: $15 - $45
- Co-insurance: $1000 single deductible/ $3,000 family deductible
- Maximum out-of-pocket: $5000 single/$10,000 family
- Employee Plan: Employee Pays $122 - $129 per month
- Employee/Spouse Plan: Employee Pays $358 - $369 per month
- Employee & All Children Plan: Employee Pays $323 - $334 per month
- Family Plan: Employee Pays $546 - $557 per month
* There is a second Major Medical Option: High Deductible/HSA Plan

Delta Dental Group Insurance Plan available.
Vision Insurance
Avesis Group Insurance Plan available.
Flex Plan (Cafeteria Plan or Section 125) available.
Retirement Plan
Youth & Family Services provides a retirement plan that includes a 401(k) option. Youth & Family Services provides a discretionary contribution and a 401(k) match.
Loan Cancellation and Deferment
Providers or supervisor of provision of services to high-risk children from low-income communities and their families may qualify for loan cancellation and deferment of some federal Perkins, National Direct, and National Defense student loans. Youth & Family Service provides services to high-risk children. Based on job description and responsibilities, some full-time positions may be eligible for loan cancellation and deferment. For more information, please contact the college/university financial aid or business office that administered the loan.
