Girls Inc. Weather Station
Embracing a hands-on approach to teaching, YFS Girls Incorporated® staff incorporate all aspects of the Girls Inc. Weather Station in their Operation SMART curriculum, which teaches girls about Science, Math and Relevant Technology. The Weather Station helps girls learn about a variety of topics related to atmospheric events – including analyzing charts and tabular data. Girls get to apply their math skills for calculations and gain a better understanding of modern information technology systems in the process. Additionally, girls learn how to use information gathered from past weather readings to predict changes in weather patterns.
